Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the deckstr mobile application (“the App”) operated by deckstr (“we”, “our”, “us”).

By downloading, installing, or using deckstr, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Use of the Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use deckstr. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Submit topics that contain hate speech, harassment, or illegal content
  • Use the App to try to generate abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, or otherwise harmful content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the App
  • Use automated tools to access the service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Share your premium account credentials with others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

AI-Generated Content

Disclaimer

Flashcard content in deckstr is generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI). While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
  • Flashcards are intended as study aids, not authoritative sources.
  • You should verify important information with official textbooks, course materials, or qualified instructors.
  • We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is suitable for any specific exam, qualification, or curriculum.

Safety and Reporting

  • We may apply safeguards, topic restrictions, and moderation measures intended to reduce unsafe or inappropriate AI-generated output.
  • These safeguards may not catch every issue.
  • If you encounter generated content that is offensive, unsafe, deceptive, or clearly incorrect, you should report it through the app or our Support page.
  • We may review reported content and use those reports to improve our safety systems and user experience.

Content Ownership

  • You retain ownership of the topics you submit.
  • AI-generated flashcard content is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.
  • You may not redistribute, sell, or publish bulk AI-generated content from deckstr.

Purchases & Subscriptions

Plans

deckstr offers a free plan, a one-time Standard purchase, and optional Premium subscriptions. The plans, limits, pricing, and available billing periods shown in the app at the time of purchase apply.

Standard (One-Time Purchase)

  • Standard is a single, non-recurring in-app purchase that permanently unlocks Standard-tier features on your account.
  • Payment is processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Because it is not a subscription, Standard does not renew and cannot be cancelled.
  • Refunds are handled according to the refund policy of the platform through which you purchased and any rights you have under applicable law.

Premium (Subscription)

  • Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Payment is charged to your App Store or Play Store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • We do not process or store your payment information directly.
  • Prices may vary by country, platform, taxes, and active promotional offers.

Auto-Renewal

  • Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • The renewal price is the same as the original subscription price unless we notify you of a price change.

Cancellation

  • You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your device’s subscription settings:
    • iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
    • Android: Google Play Store > Subscriptions
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Premium access until then.
  • Refunds, if any, are handled according to the rules of the platform through which you subscribed and any rights you have under applicable law.

Free Trial

  • If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google and typically limited to one per account.

Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Delete Account in the app, or by emailing [email protected].
  • You may also use the web deletion path described on our Support page.
  • We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • deckstr is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for any loss resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

Intellectual Property

  • The deckstr name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property.
  • You may not use our branding without written permission.
  • Open-source components used in the app are subject to their respective licenses.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
