deckstr (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the deckstr mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

By using deckstr, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
  • Study content: Topics you enter, flashcards generated for you, and flashcards you save to playlists.
  • Support requests: If you contact us, we collect the information you provide in your message.
  • Content reports: If you report AI-generated content, we may collect the reported topic, screenshot, your explanation of the issue, and related account details needed to investigate.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics about how you use the app, such as features used and session duration.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect location data.
  • We do not collect contacts or photos.
  • We do not use cookies or tracking pixels (there is no web interface within the app).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the deckstr service
  • Generate AI-powered flashcards based on your topic requests
  • Save your playlists and study preferences
  • Respond to support requests
  • Review reports about unsafe, offensive, deceptive, or incorrect AI-generated content
  • Improve the app experience

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — Authentication and data storage. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • OpenAI — AI flashcard generation. Your topic requests are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate flashcard content. OpenAI Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management. Processes purchase information through Apple App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — Handle payment processing for in-app purchases and subscriptions. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Study content (topics, playlists) is retained until you delete it or your account.
  • Cached flashcards may be stored on our servers for up to 30 days to improve performance.
  • When you delete your account, associated app data is deleted within 30 days unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
  • Data at rest is encrypted in our database.
  • Access to user data is restricted to essential services only.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data associated with your account
  • Request correction of inaccurate account information
  • Delete your account and associated app data (via Settings > Delete Account, our Support page, or by emailing [email protected])
  • Ask questions about our retention, security, or data-handling practices
  • Report problematic AI-generated content through our Support page or by emailing [email protected]

Children’s Privacy

deckstr is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.

Users between 13 and 18 should review this Privacy Policy with a parent or guardian.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
